Tap, nitrogen charged. Heavy malt aromas of toasted and dark chocolate, light citrus and earth for the hopa and yeast. Head is huge, super dense and creamy, off-white with excellent thick lacing, covering almost 100% of the glass, and is fully lasting. Color is black. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately bittersweet. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, creamy and has a soft carbonation. A pretty good Stout, thick and rich, and full of taste.

On tap at Three Floyds. Poured black with a thick brown head. Aroma consisted of sweet roasted chocolate notes. Started sweet, but roasted chocolate notes, a bit overwhelming.

Black. What’d you expect? Very rich, very smooth, lots of rich chocolate and coffee, maybe some vanilla and caramel, too. Very milky, and slightly sweet. Nice stuff.

On tap @ FFF. Pours black with a thick tan head. Mild aroma, little chocolate. I thought it had heavy chocolate malt in the flavor and was smooth. Decent brew.

On tap @ Horse Brass, pours black with a medium off white head. Nose is caramel and maple. Flavor is roasted malt, nutty, maybe some vanilla. Overall fairly bland and boring. The palate was silky smooth. Maybe a different day a better score, but this beer bored me.

On tap at WBF in Raleigh. Pours very similar to Guinness: dark ruby with a nitro cream head. Good lacing (nitro though). Aroma of milk chocolate, roasted malt and coffee grinds. Taste is Guinness brown sugar, caramel, and and Irish Cream. Creamy body. Slight metallic aftertaste. Not bad.
