Pours a murky dark mustard brown with decent near white head. Aroma is a little caramel, figs, and light raisin. Flavor is old, musty, tea, butter, caramel, and a little metallic. This bottle could have been old, but I don’t even think a fresh bottle would be all that good. Palate is mildly creamy, but overpriced. I’ll re-rate this again, but only if it’s free. Strong caramel malt aromas as well as some wheat and yeast. Sweet and smoky malt flavors are clear up front, followed by some orange and honey, all balanced by a bit of hops bitterness. Creamy texture, full carbonation, and the malts win out in the aftertaste. Extra points for a great label. Rciesla (3686), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Lots of malt and some light smokiness, a woody accent, with some light bittering hop character, of grass and earth. Decent. Birdiebeagle (788), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA

Has a rich malty taste that goes down easy. I have had this beer a few time and really liked it a couple times and was not quite as sure on the others.

Pours clear amber with a fine, creamy, yellowish head. Aroma has a bit of hay, light pine and doughy malts. Medium carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is lightly fruity, some good toffee and a little bit of a hoppy bite. Generally a nice beer. Good balance.
