Malty sweet with a relatively strong smokiness. They say the smokey character of Scottish ales come from the yeast, but I detect a hint of peat malt. Over-carbonated. Pretty good. scanovajr (361), Stanford, California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Golden with a little white head. Smells molasses, and tastes sweet at first and then the taste disappears. The aftertaste comes back as molasses, and then is gone quickly. It is full-bodied for an ale, with lots of carbonation. It seems to leave a film on your mouth, although that could be because I didn’t brush my teeth this morning. nimbleprop (922), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
