High white head, excellent lacing. Lovely clear dark amber-brown colour. Very fruity malt aroma. Partly carbonated palate, intense flavour of raisin, banana and smoky hops.

Bottle. Pours light amber with a pillowy fluffy head. Aroma is basically dead with a hint of hops and malt. The taste at first seems like a typical ale with a light malty edge. But the taste is an odd balance of light hops with a malty texture. Its a decent brew, not as good as many other but worth trying.

Bottle. Clear, reddish amber with a big creamy head. Smoked caramel aroma blending with grassy hoppiness.Flavours are sweet caramel with an interesting smokiness. Medium-bodied, nice, smooth and dry mouthfeel. Highly drinkable and sufficiently complex.

Bottled. Pours a cloudy amber with orange highlights and a scant but lacy off-white head. Aroma starts with prunes and backfills with toffee and a dash of citrus. Medium slightly creamy body and fine carbonation. The taste has toffee, fruit, oranges with a touch of smoke and peat. The hops finally show up in the crisp dry finish.

Tasted 09/08/2006. 500ml bottle from Regional Wines, Wellington. Bright, burnished gold, with a short fizzy white head. Typical Belhaven nose - caramel, prunes and a whiff of sulphur. Pretty prickly in the mouth, from carbonation and a touch of hops, with a dry malt spine and a touch of roast in the finish. A little dried fruit on the palate. Clean and refreshing but nothing to rush back for.

Style 63/70 500ml bottle. Nose of caramelly malt, with a bit of ruit, and a very tiny smokiness. Amber color with a small beige head. Caramelly malt taste with a bit of smokiness from the malt and a little hop bitterness that lasts into the finish.
