Aroma consists of caramel, a light fruitiness, slight malt textures, subtle hop notes, and liquid smoke. Taste is nice and heavy malt, rather creamy, and light smoke notes. Palate is slightly bitter and quite creamy. Overall, I liked this brew very much. Not super flavorful but just consistent and blended so well. Cheer!!! keoki182 (305), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 15, 2006 This beer was significantly lighter in color and body than I expected, but it did have a very effervescent mouthfeel and strong malt presence. Very easy drinking. Solid. hammenlind (738), Sundbyberg, Sweden

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 22, 2006 While not having the best of luck my last outing with Belhaven (Twisted Thistle IPA) I was a little ....uncertain about this. The pour was a nice dark roasty brown color with a nice head, fairly clear. Aroma was light malt and lightly woody smoke. Mouthfeel was nice done, a full bodied beer. Flavors really intesified when it warmed up. It carried a slight vinuous character, slightly smokey, nicely malted and sweet in just the right amounts. Overall a VERY enjoyable beer that I will definitely revisit. HogTownHarry (4020), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 5, 2006 Draught. At Smokeless Joe. What a nice, pleasant beer - too bad it won’t be here long. Poured hazy copper with a decent foamy lasting white head - looks great. Light ESB aroma - dry sweet malt aroma, hint of scotch ale to it (the Belhaven yeast?). Taste is similar, just more bitter, just right session balance between toasty sweet malt and light herbal hops. Astringent, creamy mouthfeel, just enough tap carbonation, a easy lightly bitter balanced finish - a terrific light, slightly sweet session bitter, I could quaff 5 pints of this on a hot sunny day no problem at all. jerc (3947), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Aroma of light caramel and toasted malt. Flavour is light caramel malt and a light earthy bite to it. Average palate. Quaffable but simplistic at times.
