Pours a light brown with a thick tan head. Mildly malty aroma. The taste was decidedly mild as well soft malts and hops, thin. The wee heavy was better.IMHO.

Amber/brown bee and a white head. Mostly nutty and malty aromas, with a creamy, smooth malt flavour, although a little thin.

Poured a very dark amber with reddish hues, with a medium white head. Malty pleasant aroma, similar to Belhaven’s Scottish Ale. Taste was malty at first, with only a mild bitterness, decaying into a rusted nutty character and finally a smokiness that fills the whole mouth. The smokiness is what threw me off the most. That, and the fact that the palate seemed watery to me. Pretty good, but not as good as Belhaven’s Scottish Ale, I think.

Sampled at Charlotte Oktoberfest ’04. Very enjoyable brew - the fruitiness in the flavor was a very pleasant surprise. Nice creamy mouthfeel only adds to it. Good one.

Pours a nutty brown color, with a pillowy tan head on top. Aroma is different- earthy, sweet, almost some berries in there as well. Flavor is woody and sweet, perhaps even a little smoky. In fact, this beer has a faint cigar-like flavor to it. Very unique, though I’m not sure if I would drink one again.

Has a distinct aroma and a bit of a different flavor - but a good one. Great amber color, too. Thumbs up.

Dark copper color with a small off white head. Malty aroma. Flavor of malt and caramel. Nice dry finish.
