Bottled, at the New Course Club House, St. Andrews, Scotland.
Deep amber colour, clean and clear, with a white foaming head. Roasted malt and peat aroma (was I imagining it after my emotional round of golf in the wind?). Earthy, smoked notes, complex and intriguing. Bready, peat flavours with good bitter length on the palate. (No I don’t think so. I had a few more on another day and they were just as good).

Wow I would be surprised to claim this as a scottish ale especially when compared to thier other scotch ale. I found this a non full bodied ale without the strong malt ovewrtones you would expect.

fresh sweet hop aroma, smokey aroma also present. amber, medium frothy head, high carbonation. lightly roasted/smokey flavoured malt, chocolate, sweet/floral hops. highly carbonated, medium palate, medium bitterness. surprising and different flavour that what I expected from the aroma and appearance, distinct chocolatey and smokey flavours from the malt.

Nice head, amber colouration. Aroma is surprisingly hoppy, earthy UK hops, a little smokey, buiscuity malt also detected. Flavour is smokey, whiskyish, toasty malt and british hops, some fruityness, lingering smokey bitterness.

(on bottle) Too bad for this beer, I´ve had some better ones before that night. This brew has alot of scot in the nose, but the mouth is disapointing. It´s weak in turms of tar-, dirt- and heattastes and therefor the bitternes becomes too dominant. This brewhouse makes ´em so mush better.
