A full-bodied and malty ale with a rounded, smooth fruit palate and a tight, creamy head that laces all the way down the glass. Rich in colour with a smooth, creamy texture and a distinctively strong flavour.

Pours brown with no head. Not much aroma. Farily malty body with some nuts as well. Kind of nice, but nothing stands out.

Nice and smooth Scottish ale with a delicious fruity maltiness and a delicately peaty touch. Long pleasantly bitter finish.

Quite weak aroma... Taste makes you think of spring, sugar, groves and that of sitting under an oak with a good beer

Caramel aroma. Amber color, beige head, good lace. Sweet, caramel, medium body, light bitter. Nice beer but a bit too sweet and it could use extra hop aroma and flavor.

April 20th 2004 Winking Judge, Hamilton, Ontario. Golden brown hue light creamy foamy head. Little to no aroma. Bit too cold for my liking as it warmed the aroma started to appear. Light sweetness in the aroma. Malty flavour. Light to the palate with a creamy syrupy texture.

12 oz bottle. Followed up a McEwans with this - bad move. A prettier beer, and fine on its own, but should not follow a McEwans.

Unlike Belhaven Scottish Ale, this beer is pleasing to me. It has a slightly bitter full-bodied taste and mouthfeel, a nice blend of malt and hops, with (am I crazy) an ever-so-slight touch of cannabis-ashiness. Maybe I am crazy. Perhaps the Scots are crazy. Perhaps this review is plummeting in a downward spiral of madness encircling a toiletbowl of dissatisfaction...I can't get no satisfaction; I am dissatisfied with this review. I *am* however satisfied with this beer.
