Apr 28, 2004 Caramel aroma. Amber color, beige head, good lace. Sweet, caramel, medium body, light bitter. Nice beer but a bit too sweet and it could use extra hop aroma and flavor.

Golden brown hue light creamy foamy head. Little to no aroma. Bit too cold for my liking as it warmed the aroma started to appear. Light sweetness in the aroma. Malty flavour. Light to the palate with a creamy syrupy texture.

Apr 20, 2004 Unlike Belhaven Scottish Ale, this beer is pleasing to me. It has a slightly bitter full-bodied taste and mouthfeel, a nice blend of malt and hops, with (am I crazy) an ever-so-slight touch of cannabis-ashiness. Maybe I am crazy. Perhaps the Scots are crazy. Perhaps this review is plummeting in a downward spiral of madness encircling a toiletbowl of dissatisfaction...I can't get no satisfaction; I am dissatisfied with this review. I *am* however satisfied with this beer.

Hazy nut brown. Not much head, just some white foam. Bitter anise aroma. Taste is bitter but thin: grassy and herbal. Some toffee flavor. Short finish. (5/2/6/3/10 2.6)

Copper color, small white head, lace. Whiskey nose. Light to medium-bodied, smooth, caramelly, burned malt. Oily short finish. (6/4/6/3/13 3.2)
