Commercial Description:
Bottle: Pastuerised.
A refreshing example of an India Pale Ale from the master brewers at Belhaven. The blend of Cascade and Challenger hops combine to produce an abundance of fresh hop aroma that preludes a bitter-dry taste explosion. Crafted from nearly three centuries of brewing heritage at Scotland’s oldest independent brewery, this ale from Belhaven will have your taste buds tingling.

From tap at Svea, Malmö next to the EU version on bottle. Pours clear golden orange with a small white and dense head. Mild citrus to grapefruity hops aroma. Subdued caramel malty flavoured with a distinct grapefruit and slight peach flavoured base. Slowly building bitterness and fruity accents into the finish. Distinct more hoppy than the european version which has a more pronounced thistle herbal note.

Amber in color with a medium sized white head. Hops in the aroma. Medium, bitter body.

Pours a clear golden color with some orange hues with a thin white head, before mid-point, the head totally disapeared. Interesting aroma of floral, fruity hops, toasted malt and caramel. The flavor delivers a crisp toasted malt and caramel amid some mild floral hops, there’s very mild bitterness in the end. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and medium to lively carbonation. This is a very pleasant pint of english ale to sample in the comfort of your home.

From a 1L bottle purchased locally. Aroma is like lemony iced tea. Color is a golden amber that is clear except for what look s like hop particles floating around. Flavor is malty, biscuity with some hop bitterness and citrusy hop flavor in the finish. Full and rich but not too sweet, but still balanced a little toward the malt. Do not expect an American IPA out of this one. This is more along the lines of an English IPA that is more balanced and malt focused. A slightly bigger pale ale.

Not sweet floral hop aroma. Clear orange color with a very small white head. Sweet beginning with a sharp bitter and carbonated finish.

I love herbal beers, or anything brewed with unique ingredients, so the thistle was great. A very sweet IPA but still plenty bitter for the rest of us. Hints of plant.

Bottle, bb Aug 09. Appearance cloudy orange/brown with medium head but with floaties. Aroma, oxidised hop, malt. Some orange trying to get through. Sweet crystal, more sweet than bitter. Overall, poorly packaged. Not really a IPA, to sweet, not enough hop bitterness to balance out malt sweetness. More of a PA .

Not much hop aromas off this at first. The flavors brought a bit of citrus in, then the hops were noticable. But even then they were quite subdued. Nice lemon citrus and touches of grass. Decent for an ale, just not an IPA lovers beer.
