Aroma of hops, citrus, and some sweetness. Taste of thiis medium bodied brew comes across with some pine, hops, roasted malt, and a dry finish. One of the better Pales I’ve had from over the pond. gilvanblight (390), Windsor, Ontario, Canada

Very bitter taste witha ton of hops and just a bit of sweetness at the end that is anice contrast. A good IPA, though I’m not a big fan of the style. Pours a nice deep orange amber with a generous rocky orange-tinted head displaying excellent retention and thick lace. Fresh perfumey aroma of tangerine and berry fruit, subtley malty as well. The reverse hold true on the palate: the rich smooth malts are generously heaped with a frsh citrus fruitiness, and a very bitter dry woody/herby finish. Magnificent! pdiddy (22), San Marcos, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Bottle. This amber-hued creation smells and tastes like citrus. Sweet and bitter, this beer is good but not great. Also, I’d like to know if thistle was used for more than a namesake ? dwedin (238), Portland, Oregon, USA

Mild malt and a little caramel with a strong presence of citrus, grapefruit aromas. Thin body, crisp and quickly fading bitterness. Very dry in the finish. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2007 Bottle from supermarket in NZ, a clear light amber colour with a rocky white head. An earthy hop aroma with a touch of pepper. A flowery hop flavour on a light but consistently bitter palate. The finish was disappointingly short though. dkachur (2376), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2007 Bottle. Pours a light orange with voluminous head. Aroma is very hoppy... soap and pine. Taste is smooth, almost with a tropical fruit vibe going on. For an IPA, I’d like to be bludgeoned across the palate a tad more, but this is a good beer. gsmitty80 (642), Washington DC, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2007 This is a surprisingly smooth IPA. Very drinkable and enjoyable. The finish is smooth and doesn’t overwhelm you with hops but they are still present.
