Pours a hazy, ruddy amber with lots of tiney floaties in suspension and a large beige head that leaves nice lacing. Sweet, toasty and caramelly malt aroma with a distinct hop character that’s somewhat vegetal and herbal in character. Flavor is sweet, perhaps a bit oxidized, with the herbal and floral hops - again with a somewhat vegetal taste and a bit of pepper in the finish. Medium body, creamy carbonation. Strong hoppy aroms with a nice clean clear color with a strong white head. Has some floral and fruity notes in the flavor along with a large but not huge hoppy flavor. A clean, crisp beer. This was very drinkable and was not over the top. Good Beer. Choos (504), Taylors Hill, Australia
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 27, 2006 Aroma: massive green fresh hop smell (kinda bud like actually) with some nice light passionfruity notes. Appearance: amber and clear with a bubbly head that flattens out but leaves some sheet lacing. Flavour: really fresh and flavourful hoppiness with quite a bit of sweet malt that is so well blended as to be almost hidden. Palate: medium mouthfeel and heavily carbonated with a lingering bitterness. Sofajoern (146), Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2006 Quite subdued yet refreshing and complex brit styled IPA. I very much enjoyed this and was quite surprised to see the alc. Had hoped it could be my new session beer.
Oh yeah: clear caramel body with foamy head, flowers, pine and honey in the aroma, taste of smoke and caramel malts with nice hop balance. Quite dry aftertaste. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 24, 2006 This bottled brew from Indianapolis, IN poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a carbonated hazy brown colored body and an excellent thick sheet lacing. The aroma contained strong caramel and piney hop notes. The mouth feel was tingly from start to finish. It had a very nice caramel strong hop malt flavor. This brew is very good for an IPA and not over the top. Very quaff-able. Odeed (1673), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 13, 2006 Updated: Jul 9, 2006Poured a fuzzy orange coler, without much head. This is an IPA but a little light on the hops. This again is a classic case of an OK but overpriced brew. It is always fun to try imports once, but you can get far superior IPA’s from a number of California breweries at half the price, including at least three here in my home town of Eureka. Anyway to get back to the ale, it had a nose of malts and some hops. Mouthfeel was OK, but not great. Only an average IPA. I hope those poor folks in Scotland can get offerings from Stone, Lost Coast, or Lagunitas to name jiust three so they can taste was a real IPA is like After spending a month in Germany trying about a hundred beers, I decided to give this another try. I have to improve my rating some, but my commets about being able to get superior IPAs locally still stands.
