Dark, dark red. Huge malty nose and flavor. Not a hop flavor or bitterness to be had. Hints of caramel, raisin, plum. Not my personal favorite style but I’d got to respect it.

From bottle at Red House in Renton, Wa. Didn’t do a full judging on this one, but was impressed with the complexity. Lighter than many scottish ales you might commercially find, both in color and body, but full of flavor, in particular a very wide variety of sweet notes, dominated by caramel, fruit esters, and some citrus hop flavor. Hoard to drink too quickly; a beer I’d like to age to get some of the flavors to congeal a bit more, but terribly interesting.

Bottle. Red brown colour with an average lasting white head. Fruity aroma of hops and sweet toasted malts. Bit sweet flavour, roastness of malts, fruits (raisins) and good bitterness in the end. Average dry bitter aftertaste. Great brew!

Bottled. Pours looking a sexy translucent ruby, nice head. Malty, sweet caramel w/ subtle low key nuances. An awesome beer, I will comeback for more.

Has a nice, ample brownish head which diminishes fast. The aroma is definitely that of a scottish ale, with a nice sweet maltiness to it. The flavor is also dominated by the malt, as one would expect.

Appearance: dark copper color. High head, of beige color, consistence and persistence. Aroma: malty, candy, sweet fruitiness, citric touches. Low presence of hop. Flavor: malty intense, candy and reminiscence of cherries. Finish toasty and smoked. Palate: Medium body and creamy texture. Low carbonation. Good beer. (sorry for my english)

ggbbbbbbGood appearance, nice beige head that dissipates into a light film. Not much lacing. Aroma was there, but weak. Notes of spice, sugar, caramel and light cocoa & cinnamon. ooo,,,’’p//////////p ’’’/pppoo//

Clean, caramel malt aroma, but a light aroma. Dark brown amber color with an off-white head that is substantial and convincingly laces. Medium mouthfeel. Clean malt start. It is simply malt; caramel rather than harshly toasted. The finish brings a sudden, slight, burst of sweetness, and when that melts away the result is relatively dry, but not bitter. There are a number of distracting flavor notes, but, although the mix is attractive, none rise to the fore. Heck of a nice sipper.
