Commercial Description:
Pasteurised bottle, export only.
Belhaven Wee Heavy has a rich deep flavor that derives from the greater proportion of malted barley to hops wich characterised Scottish ales of the 19th century. A beer to be sipped, savoured and fully respected.

Bottle from Market Street Wine Shop Downtown. Pours reddish brown with a medium head and decent lacing. Fruity caramel aroma. Taste of caramel, grain, fruity pebbles and aspartame. As weird as that sounds, it does seem to work somewhat. Very flavorful, but not that great.

(England) Pours a deep reddish color with a sm tan head. Aroma is of caramel, malts, and dark fruits. The taste has a slight molasses flavor with some nice hoppy notes !!

Bottle - Had this awhile back in Virginia and just recently at the Dev 4th tasting. Nice amber reddish brown pour with some off white head and good lacing. The malted grains and full body English Ale flavor are what I like about this. Light hops, roasted barley with a subtle sweetness, good drinker.

Bottle. Here is one I thought got lost in the shuffle at our last tasting. Mostly brown color but a hint of red in there too. Nice off white head. Aroma of English malts (YUMMY) and a light hop aroma. Tasted like candy from a bottle. Very sweet and Caramel like. I noticed dark fruits in the taste. Belhaven makes some great brew. CHEERS!

On tap at the Piper’s Pub, nice place. Looks like rootbeer. Creamy thin head that does not fade. Has an olfactory prelude that indicates it’s a strong beer. The first taste is also quite strong in alky flavors. Taste is somewhat like whiskey has been added to this brew. Surprisingly tho, the aparent strength of this stuff seem to fade as the session moves on. Does not leave a terribly bitter alky linger on the end. Just a little too strong for this session beer lover.
