Fairly clean malt taste with nice nuttyness, and nice lingering german hops in finish. Medium bodied. Considering this is 9 month olds, it is quite a resilient beer! tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 8, 2004 Caramel malt balances nicely with lightly spicy hops in the nose. Clear golden-copper with decent and lasting, pillowy, white head. Some lacing. Light sweet caramel malts balance well with spicy hop flavour and decent balancing bitterness. Medium-light body and strong, effervescent carbonation. Sure, it’s pretty conservative for a winter seasonal and doesn’t exactly push the envelope, but really, for a pale lager, it’s fairly good. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 18, 2006 Bottle (341ml). Via trade with my good Montréal friend Viper666. Poured clear pale gold, very small frothy white head. Typical grainy, horse-sweat-y pale lager aroma, a little stale and vegetal with honeyish overtones. Tastes the same - somewhat harsh, papery and stale in the finish, seems stronger than 5.2% somehow. Watery body, harshly fizzy mouthfeel, gritty, bitter/stale aftertaste - ehh, pretty much like all the other B-Gs - maybe a little more assertive, but is that a GOOD thing? beerbuzzmontreal (2921), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 11, 2004 Amber color, medium white head. Sweet and malty aroma and flavor. Light body. How the hell is this supposed to be a winter lager ? It’s just another ordinary brew from RJ ... now, a doppelbock, that would be a nice winter lager. Boutip (2390), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Pourred a light colored brew with a medium head. The taste is quite light with a nice sweet aftertaste. I would have expected a stronger brew since this is a winter seasonal beer but overall it is not too bad. GonZoBeeR (2163), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

Arome typique de son style, malte végétal et des céréals économiques. Goût de légumes amères et coupé d’eau. Pourquoi c’est une lager d’hiver??
