Commercial Description:
A copper robe with a hint of gold. Mellow, with a refreshing bitterness, Belle Gueule Originale is bottom fermented and cold filtered… a lager of the highest distinction, brewed in the heart of Plateau Mont Royal.

On tap at the Bow&Arrow in Toronto. Good looking pint but can’t say much else positive about it. No hop presence in the nose, just malt and yeast. Cloying malt flavour, no discernable hop notes or bitterness. One of the most dissapointing pints I’ve had in a while. Cheers!

Aroma of malt with hints of caramel. Clear golden color with a thin white head. Mild flavor of malt and caramel with a bitter finish. Light to medium body, oily texture, medium carbonation. Boring lager ...

Very attractive colour for a lager – deep, deep gold, with a vermilion sunrise on the horizon. The smell of hops skip out of the glass, followed by typical lager notes of cereal, grass and sugar. A nice, dry palate is accented by a pleasant chalky texture. Quite refreshing to drink, with good bitterness, plus whole grain bread, a metallic note and some sweetness to balance things out. Skunky tap water lurks in the medium-long finish, plus those everpresent bitter hops. Not an absolute bomb of a lager, but pretty good for the style.

Bottle: Clear golden with a thin small-bubbled white head. Sweet malts with a touch of grass in the aroma, thin bodied with light carbonation. Starts and ends very lightly bitter.

Nice golden color with some bitter hops, some sweetness and smoothness. A little thin and quite average. A refreshing beer nonetheless.

A bit surprised how over rated this is for a Vienna. Golden. bubbly. thick white head... no aroma and a sharp in the nose palate. Malts are good and prevalent but it needs something else.

Nothing special about this beer. Not bad, but not exceptional. Somehow malty and bitter.
