Commercial Description:
A copper robe with a hint of gold. Mellow, with a refreshing bitterness, Belle Gueule Originale is bottom fermented and cold filtered… a lager of the highest distinction, brewed in the heart of Plateau Mont Royal.

Cereals, light citrus and hops in nose. No surprise in mouth, it tastes pretty much what it smelled with an okay bitterness. Nothing Special

Bottled. Sweet malts and cookie aroma. Golden color, white head, good lace. Light bitter, light malty, light overall actually. Very refreshing and great when thirsty I guess.

Golden ale with foamy white head. Light malty aroma with rather corny diacetyl notes. Crisp malt with german hops. Not the BG I remembered. Tap at brewery.

341 ml bottle. Quite clear pale gold with a massive lasting white cap...nose grassy, light pale malts and a hint vegetal...in the body, quite bland and ordinary, bit sugary/malty, no hop presence, touch brown sugar and vanilla and perhaps a bit of spinach...not much to say, really...quenching in this hot weathe without offering much substance.

Gentle toasted malt aroma. Orange blonde with small, white, rapidly diminshing head. Bitterness somewhat overshadows a sweet malt character. Body is a bit thin even for style.

Bottle (341ml). Clear amber, small foamy off-white head. Bread yeast aroma, grain, honey, very mild stale hops - a little vegetal on warming. Taste is sweet, grainy, slightly alcohol-harsh, bitter and a little unpleasant as it warms - a standard Canadian macro, less offensive than most. Watery body, quite lively and biting mouthfeel, quick finish, slightly gluey aftertaste - I’ve had much worse.

I started yesterday with this one. It was hot day and this one seemed to be prefect for it. It did its job well. Malty, slightly bitter, slightly all. I enjoyed this one not bad...
