Bottled under the name La Becasse Kriek (5.1%), enjoyed at a substandard restaurant near one of the world’s most famous cemetaries, in Paris. My first lambic. Blood/cherry red pour, pink head. Huge, sweet cherry aroma. Flavor followed as expected. Creamy mouthfeel. A bit too sweet and doesn’t really emphasize the sourness of the cherries, but not bad.

dark red color with a good sided pink head. has a aroma that reminds me of toothpaste but in a nice way. a not over bearing cherry taste which leaves you with a sorta slimy palate. has excellent lacing. different but enjoyable.

Disponible seulement en fut au Québec et la seule sorte de Belle-Vue, domage! Je ne suis pas fort sur les krieks, mais elle est passable. J’aimerais bien esseiller les autres.

Bottled. Dark red with minor white head, minor lacings as well. The aroma is light but has a sweet scent of mainly sugar. The cherry is very present in flavour, barely, it’ doesn’t really taste all that much.

Rather dark pink-reddish colour, large pink head. Fuity-cherry aroma, somewhat sweet and sour. Full and creamy palate, little sweet. Finish is sour-sweet, enjoyable.

Bottle: Clear cherry red with a lightly pink, foamy head. I love the intrigue and sense of romance that surrounds the lambic family of beers. There is such magic and mystery connected with their production, and I can very easily lose myself in it. Such is the case here. I found sweetly sour, raw and very fresh garden vegetables and fruits in the aroma. It reminded me of the basket full of such delights that my great-grandmother used to use to collect the gleanings from her garden in. Despite this there was nothing definite; maybe some cherries, probably some capsicum, possibly some musty hops. Nevertheless, the intrigue remains. There is clear difference in the flavours. Full bodied and very lengthy tart cherries dominate. There is good balance here with the tart aspects interlocking nicely with sweetness and some well placed washed rind cheese notes, presumably from the aged hops. All this beer lacks is some zing and life on the palate (not necessarily carbonation). I found it a dark, somewhat sweaty drink, though still very pleasing.
