Obvious cherries in the aroma, although slightly artificial. Tart and sour, the flavour is nicely balanced, but a little bland. Medium-bodied and nicely dry, this slides down very easily. You can actually identify some lambic-ness from the aroma - theres wood and apple and cobweb along with the cherry. Mouthfeel syrupy and flavour just way too sweet. Sad. Way too sweet with a strongly medicinal false cherry flavor...but the lively carbonation pulled it out of the fire for me. Crit (2401), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

But I’m rarely in the mood for cherries in beer. Maybe like twice a year. Hooker (450), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 24, 2005 Bottle. Sweet cherry-like aroma with some hints of sour acidity in the nose as well. There are also sour apple notes as well. Pretty pleasant aroma. Hazy copper/brown color with a small tan head. Pretty damn ugly compared to the Lou Pepe I had last week. Mild acidity and lactic notes to start, quickly followed by sweet cherries...almost medicinal in nature. Finishes a bit roasted and bitter. The cherries work in this beer like the cherry flavor works in Amoxicillin. It feels as though the fruit is trying to hide something as opposed to working with something. This is very drinkable though, but it just doesn’t jive with my palate. Krausen (102), USA
