hughie (3016), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Jul 29, 2005 In general I don’t like non-beer flavours, however this was quite drinkable. It looked like a coke with a frothy pale pink head, but the aroma was attractive. I found the taste quite complex: there was fruity sourness and sweetness with just a hint of bitterness in the background. fly (1331), austin, Tejas, USA Jul 27, 2005 Hovering in between sweet and dry. Cherries are well presented, but rather lifeless in other aspects including carbonation. After developing an appreciation for the sourness and "funk" found in others it’s harder to get excited about this one. Not a thing really bad about in the least - if that makes sense. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 26, 2005 2002: Pour is mahoghany with a thin white head...smell is funky with sourness and nice warm cherry...taste is not nearly so sour as the smell...lifeless and sweet cherry...bland and mediocre at best... Sten (288), Westerlo, Belgium Jul 25, 2005 A dark red colour with a small red-white head. Sweet and sour taste. If you are more into sour trie the 37.5cl corked bottle, the 25cl bottle is sweeter. (Bottle 25cl, corked bottle 37.5cl) SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA Jul 24, 2005 Bottle, purchased in convenience store in Brussels! Dark, clear red with amber tinges and a foamy pinkish beige head. Dominant cherry aroma and sweet like a cherry cream candy. Sweet cherry malt flavors with some spiciness and hints of hoppiness in the finish. Smooth, creamy body. Underwhelming. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Jul 20, 2005 (Bottle) Pours a ruby body with a moderate white head. Aroma of black cherries and a slight notes of wood and chocolate. Flavor of cherry cough lozenges and malt. pivnizub (4947), Bochum, Porúří, Germany Jul 12, 2005 Bottle: Reddish amber coloured, huge reddish-white head, lasting; sourish-fruity (cherries, no doubt, almonds) nose, only very little "horse-blanket", or "wet-dog" (?) in the background; cherry-dominated beginning, light sourish flavour, moderate fruity aftertaste, short lasting. Not too sweet, quaffable, but nothing worth a detour....... HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jul 7, 2005 Updated: Aug 24, 2005Bottle (330ml). In a Maredsous stem glass. Pours a fairly cloudy, deep red, almost cola coloured. The head is thin, white, tinge of red, quick dispersing, bit of lacing and a gruel remnant on top. Aroma surprisingly sour, like a cheap white wine too long open in the bottle, sour cherry note - for the life of me, I can’t smell beer. Tart taste, but not as sour as nose warned - mild sour cherry flavour with an artificial cherry over top, hint of sweet wine, touch of malt (maybe wishful thinking) - a touch brackish. A little astringent and oily in the mouth, but elusive on the palate. Would only drink in summer.
