Jun 22, 2009 Got this can across the way from the train station in Schaerbeek, Brussels, Belgium yesterday. Kinda had high hopes for this especially after I poured and took a whif. Looks great with a big pink foamy, frothy, textured head and loads of lace. Aroma was apparent immediately upon opening the can of pie cherries. Closer sniff gave up some floral qualities too. Flavor was not so good; body either. Taste was very shallow; only of the aroma and barely any beer. Body was super thin. Tawdry. Somebody’s trying to get by on the cheap. I call you out sir! Think I’m being a little over kind in the ratings actually.

May 6, 2006 Aroma of tart cherries and sourness. Flavor was also very sour. The flavor was very unique though. It was a little too sour for me. Not horrible but not a style I am going to seek out.

Aug 25, 2003 Much more sour than most Krieks I've had - almost a Flemish Red in flavor and mouthfeel, reminds me a bit of the Goudenband a bit actually. The flavor just never develops beyond the sour cherry, no body and soul - just thin.

Aug 30, 2005 Tap. Bitter side, but not overly sour. For cherries, its a good deal. But I’m rarely in the mood for cherries in beer. Maybe like twice a year.

Sep 22, 2007 Sweet and Acididic notes of blak cherry. The palate is very sweet with a heavy dense flavor and mouthfeel. Textural. Not as sweet on the finish as the bitterness/acid blends well.

Jun 6, 2005 Tasted 04/06/2005. 330ml bottle Regional’s, Wellington.
Pale, fizzy, reddish-hue a big light pink head. Sweet aroma that is like ripe cherries and champagne. Light mouthfeel. Dry sweet flavour up front without the tartness of the Framboise (and again this is more like like champagne than your average beer). Little noticeable hop or malt influence left from what must be a pretty hungry yeast.

A bit sweet and beery flavor with acidic tones and some bitterness.

Jan 31, 2007 A trade-off between authentic Lambic sharpness/mustiness, and the super clean watery-sweet stuff Mort Subite is pumping out of the factory spigot. Not bad and not great.
