Some slight head when poured, but it faded fairly quickly. Sweet-but-bitter flavors of candy-like cherry and some bitterness. Mouthfeel was soft and somewhat syrupy, but finished up fairly dry and astringent. Decent, but not a style that I often go for. Sammys (428), Portland, Maine, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Aug 16, 2000 Nice long lasting head, ruby red color to the beer. This has a nice cherry flavor, but I found it nearly indistinguishable from La Becasse. Are they the same (Interbrew)? Nice on tap, perhaps someday I’ll rate the bottled version. dj (422), Gloucestershire, England

My first Lambic - didn’t impress me much. Tasted most like a sour cherryade. lgklotet (420), Singapore, Singapore
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 24, 2006 Bottle. Clear red, pink head. Sour-sweet aroma, cherry dominated. Quite tart palate; Flavour, again, is cherry-dominated. Not very complex, lacking in lambic character. albert007 (409), Penobsquis, New Brunswick, Canada

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 8, 2005 Bottle: Clear cherry red with a lightly pink, foamy head. I love the intrigue and sense of romance that surrounds the lambic family of beers. There is such magic and mystery connected with their production, and I can very easily lose myself in it. Such is the case here. I found sweetly sour, raw and very fresh garden vegetables and fruits in the aroma. It reminded me of the basket full of such delights that my great-grandmother used to use to collect the gleanings from her garden in. Despite this there was nothing definite; maybe some cherries, probably some capsicum, possibly some musty hops. Nevertheless, the intrigue remains. There is clear difference in the flavours. Full bodied and very lengthy tart cherries dominate. There is good balance here with the tart aspects interlocking nicely with sweetness and some well placed washed rind cheese notes, presumably from the aged hops. All this beer lacks is some zing and life on the palate (not necessarily carbonation). I found it a dark, somewhat sweaty drink, though still very pleasing. Fred82 (401), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Lots of lacing. Aroma is sweet fruits with some tart. Not a lot acidic. Taste is sweet fruits, slight tart and acidic. Much like the Mort Subite kriek. Too sweet to be called a kriek. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 14, 2006 Was expecting a bit of a bang from the c+c bottle, but nope nothing but a dull muted pop. Poured clear red (bar the head almost pop like) with a cherry spritzy aroma and a mouthfilling sour cherry taste.
