Sep 29, 2002 Updated: Jan 21, 2003My first lambic. Could say I popped my cherry, literally! with a kriek. White bubbles that quickly dispersed. A strong winy cherry aroma that tempted me to sip. Strong cherry flavour. Is it beer or a tempting cooler? Oak and very smoky aftertaste. The smoke lingers a long while. Thicker and more complex than I had expected. Not as sweet either. I really enjoyed the smokiness of each sip. Not an everyday drink, but perhaps more than once a month. I look forward to trying some variety in this style.

May 12, 2004 Love it. Cherries make this more sweeter than the framboise. If you wanna pick up a chick who doesn’t like beer, buy this for them, they’ll fall in love with you!

Feb 14, 2005 Valentine’s day and something special for my 300th review from my better half. Poured into a thin tulip it shows a light brandy-sherry color. 3 finger pink tinted meringue head. Wonderful nose: fruity, medicinal, slightly musty with a wisp of treacle. Slick mouthfeel dominance of fruit but there is a subtle but constant undertone of horse blanket layered with spice, earth...finish is wet, sour, musty with fruit over tones. Wonderfully layered between sweet-sour-bitter-musty. Wonderful stuff. I like it so kill me.

May 27, 2004 Dark red with a large, but not heavy pink head. Nice balance, more acidity than sweetness which makes for a refreshing drink.

Mar 2, 2007 A hard drink to judge. For a fruit beer it is one of the best. Cherry flavor is termemdous. If you are not a beer lover (what?) then this is a great alternative. However it is very sweet and half of a drink is enough for me.
