Bottle, 6.3%. OK aroma of hard roasted malts. Very dark brown colour, red shine, seems clear. Stable tan head. The flavour is mildly roasted, dark malts, hint of fresh-ground coffee. A little paper in the finish.

33cl bottle. pours dark brown, beige head. aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and lightly yeasty. taste, plenty of good roastiness here, light in body, some nice coffee and malts. Light sparkly mouthfeel, thin and light with hints of dark fruits and yeasty. Reminded more of a stout than an old ale. Overall mouthfeel is just superb, highly drinkable.

Bottled. A dark nut-brown beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, while the flavor is sweet with ntoes of malt, caramel, and roasted malt, leading to a dry and bitter finish.

bottle, pours dark brown, tall frothy tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and coffee. Flavors start crisp with lots of carbonation bringing a sweet malt body that fades into a lightly bitter roasted malt finish. Malt through and through. Nice brew.

Trade with Fonefan, comes as Malmedy Black. It is black-brown with a red hue and a creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, dark fruits, yeast and light licorice. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of roasted malt, caramel, dark fruit, licorice, and the finish has some slightly dry citrus. It is very stout-like, smooth and nice.

Black with creamy head. Roasted malt at first followed by a little salty smoke and finally bitter coffee.

Bottle at Moeder Lambic. Pours black with tight-laced and very sturdy tan head. Lightly sweetish nose like cola with faint roasted coffee notes. Flavor has some slight lactic tartness and a subtly roasty backdrop, mildly bitter and going quite dry. Medium body, soft and airy carbonation. Pretty light. Interesting and attractive beer but it didn’t hit my sweet spots.
