Flavors are hopped with a light saltiness, bitter breadiness, some citrus, creamy and rich, good long duration. Like a barleywine lite. Good stuff. coyotehunter (548), , Michigan, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 30, 2009 Updated: Jun 7, 2009On tap at the Eccentric Cafe 3/30/09. The only info on the board was "experimental IPA"....ABV is unknown, but Id guess it in the 7 to 8% range. It is hands down one of the better IPAs i think Ive had from any brewer. Pours a dark coppery/amber color with a good lacing head. The aroma is absolutely fantastic of peaches, grapefruit and piney goodness. The taste is a bit akin to chewing in pine needles and grapefruit rind mixed with a lightly sticky caramel malt. Palate is somewhat dry with a really bitter finish. The entire thing comes together so nicely its almost hard to describe. All I can say is its everything an excellent IPA should be. Incredible.
Update.. Still great, but not as the last time...brought rating down accordingly.
