Nice clean malt flavor and medium hop bitterness rounds out this nice brew. Reminds me of a brown ale. Very tasty. blutt59 (2153), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2008 12 oz. bottle from John’s Grocery (Iowa City, IA). Pours a very hazy dark amber hue with a significant bubbly tan head that begins to dissipate. Aromas of sweet caramel malts and sugary sweetness with a nice hoppiness. Initial taste is a mellow sweetness that flows through to a bit of a hoppy fruitiness and moves further towards a smooth semisweet finish that tastes of wonderful caramel malts. Overall, lacking in hop bitterness, the aroma led me to believe we’d have a more noticeable hop portion. However, a nice mellow amber that openly displays an impressive malt bill in taste and in aroma. Yum. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Amber in color with a moderate off-white head. Aromas were of brown sugar, grapefruit, caramel malt and spice. In the mouth it was medium-bodied with lovely malt flavors and midpalate balanced by hops that show a nice slight dryness at the end. A very nice Amber. gonzo46and2 (108), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 3, 2008 Fantastic Amber ale. Poured a huge head in my scooner and lasted till the last drop. Aroma of flowery hops pineapple and as it warms brown sugar. More on the sweet side and could use a bit more bittering hops. When it warms the flavor takes on a more dark malt taste. Overall just awesome for the style. HonkeyBra (1361), Lemont, Illinois, USA
