Commercial Description:
Made from mostly pale malt and some Munich and caramel malts. These add a little sweetness, which is balanced by more hops. The result is a rich color and fruity flavor.

From tap at tasting : Pours a cloudy loud amber color with nice white fizzy head. Aroma is nice mix of malts and hops. Taste is much the same. Medium body, pretty good.

Tap. Amber body, medium head, light nose of caramel and perhaps some fruit. Somewhat bland, moderately sweet, minimal hops. Drinkable.

(bottle - 12 oz) Reddish color with a thick tan head. Aroma is very sweet and malty with some hints of caramel, chocolate, and cherries. Flavor is very smooth and sweet with a little nuttiness at the end. Quite nice.

Pours an amber colour with large particulates and small creamy off white head. Aroma is musty, Metallic and light fruits. Fizzy carbonation on the palate. Nuts, german malts and mild caramel malts brings in the intial taste. Moving into a lighter finish with mild fruit and bitter dry hops. Good Lacing of the glass and slight head retention. Medium body. Slight sticky lips/mouthfeel. I would say this is well balanced brew, but not what I was expecting from a Bells product. However it is very drinkable.

Bottle. Cloudy amber color with a very subtle average smell. Okay flavor but fairly metallic. I feel the desire for more malt.

Beautifully hypnotizing darker cider swirling unfiltered beer pour. Just plain good yeasty beer aroma. Tingly fine bubbles on the palate. Generous amounts of bitter medicine greets the palate. Lasting back of throat and top of tongue soapy finish. A little too much for my girly tatse buds. More bitter than the average amber ale.

I got this as a gift under the name Big Porch Ale. I am not a HUGE Amber fan but this is one of the best I have had. Nice copper color. Mild head. Decent body. Mild malt/nut aroma. Mild malt, caramel taste that went down VERY easy. Surprised that I have had this as the original several times and not rated it. Probably more of a GOOD weekend beer than a SPECIAL one.
