The nose is unusual on this one, due primarily to the caramel malts (I’m assuming). It was sugary-sweet reminding me of the smell that hits you when you walk into an old-fashioned candy shop--the kind where they cook their own hard candy and spread it out to cool. I can’t say I’ve ever smelled anything remotely like this in another beer before. The mouth feel was medium-bodied and slick. Beginning quite sweet, the flavor reminded me of unfrosted sugar cookies with the bittering hops bringing about a slightly dry finish. A nice beer and unlike any other that I’ve tried to date. mcbackus (755), Merritt Island, Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 10, 2007 Bottle shared with tupalev -- my bottle. Pours a hazy orange-amber with an average size diminishing frothy off-white head. Nice, pleasant aroma of hops, caramel malt and fruit. Flavour’s the same, hops, caramel malt and fruit -- simple, but tasty and easy to drink. Medium bodied. Very good, a nice version of the style. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 10, 2007 Bottle, courtesy of and shared with blankboy. Orange’ish brown, small bubbly white head. Nice mild orange citrus like aroma. Slight hops, light malt, more hops in finish in simple but drinkable taste. A good session ale, which I’m sure is exactly what they were going for. Another solid effort from Bell’s. 00cobraR (1098), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
