abcfan (149), USA Jun 29, 2008 Thanks pepsican. Decent brew from a rather boring category. Pours orange-red with a fizzy white head that dissappears quickly. Aroma is very light, can detect some mild maltiness, but that is about it. Has a fruity caramel taste, with a sweet sticky finish. Decent beer, would sample again.
Strykzone (938), Wood River, Illinois, USA Aug 19, 2008 Somewhat amber color with a light orange head. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is caramel malt dominated with a bit of hop. Flavor is very crisp and is more balanced than the aroma. There is some applesauce and some fruitiness to go along with the caramel malt and tart hop. Smooth and consistent. Enjoyable, too WakeandBake (30), Greenville, Michigan, USA Aug 19, 2008 Bottle.I love the way this glows in my glass, kind of copper penny color, kind of a thin white head but I poured it pretty carefully(dont want to spill any eh). Smells of sweet roast and bread toast, and mild hops, Oh my gosh is this stuff good, I could drink myself into a stooper every night on this stuff mmmmmmmmmm. Kind of a sweet woody finish like candy, could I have another please ? THANK YOU Mr. BELL ! EricE (209), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Aug 18, 2008 Amber pour - looks like honey, slightly hazy. Sweet malty and yeast aroma. Similar flavor. Sweet with a touch of bitter hops to finish. Very crisp, refreshing, and easy to drink. Ceebs25 (44), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Aug 17, 2008 12 oz bottle. Fresh aroma, pale malt with light roasted caramel, along with some citrus hop, nothing crazy. Poured with a small bubbly/fizzy darker off-white head, fairly translucent with a good amount of rising carbonation, red-orange in color. Fantastic balanced in the taste, a crisp bitter at the start, then a good backing of pale and sweeter malt that continues into the finish along with a slightly sticky citrus hop that lingers briefly but nicely, medium-light body that is not watery at all. This may not quite be an extra-ordinary beer, but it is of very high quality and balanced nearly to perfection, and if I had to recommend an ale for someone just getting into beer drinking, this would be it. stefanje (540), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Aug 16, 2008 12 oz bottle from a trade with Solan. Pours a cloudy amber color with a medium off white head that has good retention. Aroma is light with dark fruits, dust and sweet malts. The flavor was a bit washed out with sweet roasted malts and a touch of biter hops. The mouthfeel was overly fizzy with overactive prickly carbonation. The finish was short and slightly metallic. Overall: Someday I’ll have to re-rate with a known fresh bottle. No real enjoyment from this one.
