patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Nov 27, 2008 draft at the brewpub, 7.4% abv - Pours yellow-green with no head. It smells like apples. Shocking! The flavori s both sweet and tart with lots of green apples. Sometimes I wondered if I was drinking a cider. The light body is a touch watery. The rather high abv is buried under all those apples. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Feb 20, 2005 A light drinkable beer with a mostly green apple taste as advertised. Lively mouthfeel and a clean sparkling finish. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Dec 13, 2003 Updated: Jan 23, 2004On tap in the old brewery room next to the eccentric cafe on Eccentric Day (night)2003. Pours a nice shiny pale green/yellow. Bubbly and a decent amount of white head. Smells slightly sour, mostly hoppy and definitely some tart apples. Flavor immediately is moderately sweet and has some green apples mixed in but then finishes very dry and lightly astringent. Apples are not overpowering, and while the beer has only a light body and little malt (sweetness comes from the fructose), it is quite decent for a fruit beer. Seems like their pale ale recipe mixed with the apples. Magnificent for the style. jskendzel (602), Washington DC, USA Feb 10, 2003 On tap Eccentric Cafe: Very light body that transcends a fruit spritzer/beer combination. Finishes with malt, no hops, and the apple juice is added in good proportions--I'm not a huge fan but this is well done for the style. The ladies we traveled with really enjoyed this beer. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Feb 9, 2003 On tap: Sour, tart aroma of Granny Smith apples. Sweet juicy cider flavor with a beer-like finish to it. Like an amber mixed with apple juice. This is much better than regular cider and is well-balanced, still maintaining its beer roots.
