Commercial Description:
Batch 8000 is part of our commemorative series celebrating our progress with special brews. Our Batch 8000 is a special recipe to be brewed only once. It is a wheat ale spiced with Coriander, Orange Peel, and Paradise Seed. Best consumed fresh.
Editor’s Note. 9% is far above the abv range of a Belgian Wit Bier. Because we do not have the style "Imperial/Double Belgian Wit", this more closely fits as a Belgian Strong Ale.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy orange-amber color with a medium sized orange-white head. The aroma was strong and sweet with notes of orange, coriander and other vague spices. The flavor was somewhat dry and musty with a light hint of orange and vague spices. The body was moderately thick. The taste was somewhat disappointing and the alcohol while well hidden initially came through significantly as it warmed.

bottle. clear mid range amber with a thin white head that lasts - coats glass as you drink. fruity yeast aroma. taste’s more like a trippel than a "double wit." i get candy sugar, orange, moderate bitter, mild carbonation. the sweetness wasn’t overbearing, but made the palate less than crisp. has a nice tang and the alcohol is well hidden, but the sugar brings down the drinkability.

What a treat. Deep orange color, moderate but quickly dissapating head. Almost no lacing. Lots of citrus and coriander as the description states. Packs a wallop, but the alcohol is hidden quite well. Great beer!

Bottle. Batch ID #8000. Pours a murky gold with a smallish light-tan head. Oranges, coriander, bananas, vanilla extract, and pepper in the floral aroma. Medium to full-bodied. Smooth finish. Starts with some tangy, juicy oranges, bananas and bubblegum and transitions nicely to some vanilla. Finishes with some pepper and spiciness. Warming alcohol and wheaty undertones throughout. Great stuff.

Bottle. Soft, hazy golden pour. Small fading fizzy white head. Aroma is heavily spiced along with wheat/grains, yeast notes, lemon/cardamom, citric tartness and candyish notes. Taste is somewhat more subdued than I expected based on the aroma and the fact that this is an "imperial" witbier. Spicy but not extreme, mild bitterness due to the yeast and soft citrus, wheat, some candyish fruitiness, sweet malts, light floral notes and soft alcohol. Body is light-medium to medium. Carbonation is present and not intrusive or dominating. Finishes with more spices, sweet malts, strong fruit notes, some light candy, yeast, and grains. Not bad at all! ***NOTE: after mixing the remaining yeast and sediment into my glass the body changed to almost sunset gold and the bitterness level climbed due to the yeast. Didn’t make this unpleasant, but I would recommend rating before the sediment is mixed and then adding the remnants afterwards and noting it.

Courtesy of Quake1028. Pours an orange juice color cut with lemon juice with minimal off white head. It has a big aroma of fruity pears, apples, faint lemon citrus as well as spice like coriander and some yeast. The taste is similar with a crisp fresh fruit and spice combination. The fruit is apples mixed with pears and sprinkled with a light coating of sugar. The coriander spice note is also apparent along with some wheat and mild malt sweetness too. The flavor seems well melded and not too bright.

This is one of the best beers ive had in a while. Pours a golden yellow with a cream head and nice lacing. The aroma of orange and corriander pertrude from the bottle and explode once poured. The taste is as stated orange and corriander hit the toung and the finish is of the seed. Excellent!

12 oz bottle-Pours a cloudy golden color w/a slight head; left some yeast deposits in the bottom of the bottle. Spiced aroma. Wheat beer flavors of banana, yeast, colander, orange peel, pepper, & citrus. Not as sweet as some witbier’s; a little drier & spicier. Full, rich mouthfeel w/ a long, dry finish. Alcohol is well hidden. A little different than most wheats, more of an after dinner type beer.
