Commercial Description:
Batch 8000 is part of our commemorative series celebrating our progress with special brews. Our Batch 8000 is a special recipe to be brewed only once. It is a wheat ale spiced with Coriander, Orange Peel, and Paradise Seed. Best consumed fresh.
Editor’s Note. 9% is far above the abv range of a Belgian Wit Bier. Because we do not have the style "Imperial/Double Belgian Wit", this more closely fits as a Belgian Strong Ale.

aroma was full and striking... notes of spices, sweet malt, alcohol, and belgian funk all permeate from this brew. pours a golden orange at first, but becomes delightfully cloudy and looks like a wit upon pouring some of the sediment in. I actually drank it with and without the sediment and would definitely suggest the sediment. Without the sediment this is very much a triple. not very clody with notes of spice, alcohol, and belgian yeast, but upon pouring in the sediment the elements of a wit beer come to life, the suble spicing comes to life, the gout de belge, becomes even stronger and rounds out into a very complex drink. Wheat also adds a subtle sournessThe extra abv still lends triple type flavors, minus the driness of some triples that produce that leather flavor. palate was at first over carbonated, but evened out throughout its consumption. At first the carbonation was so abundent I was thinking I had trouble tasting it. This was a very lovely beer though.

Pours a thick unfiltered orange with a lasting foamy head. Aroma is very spicy and pleasant. Taste is of wheat, orange, apple, banana and coriander. 9% was well hidden. Very enjoyable overall.

12 oz bottle - pours a slightly hazy dark yellow color with small fluffy white head. Aroma is full of honey, coriander, white pepper, faint bananna, vanilla. Flavor has lightly kilned malts, coriander, bananna, pear, apple, faint citrusy hops, with a moderately sweet and slightly spicey finish. Very nice overall. Does spice well, definitely present, but not overwhelming, IMO.

12 oz bottle. Hazy gold with a tight white head. Nose has lots of wheat, orange and coriander. Spicy flavor, clove and coriander, solid wheatiness. Light banana notes. Finishes a bit warm (not quite a burn). Solid brew.

Thick orange body, cloudy, hazy. Love the look of it and the pour. I’m a hops guy, so the cloying sweet thickness of this one takes a bit of geting used to. This is no lightweight, this is a substantial brew. Thick, sweet, flavorful. I can drink maybe one or two at a sitting. Good stuff. I want to keep some handy for when I’m in the mood for a big sippin beer.

Pours like Sunkist, with a sunny orange body, lots of spiraling carbonation and a big ole’ fizzy head that instantly dissipates. Coriander and alcoholic heat are immediately apparent in the nose. A deep whiff presents notes of dirty yeast characters. Little carbonation in the body leaves this with a muddled mouthfeel. Lots of sweet orange, hay, vanilla and coriander are lumped together and too sweet. Finishes with a dry sweetness - almost artificial tasting. Kind of a mess of flavors here. I love a delicate, well defined witbier and this is anything but that. Hmmm, this is a bust for me.

orange haze with a nice head. sweet inviting aroma. spicey flavor with a smooth yeast mouthfeel. alcohol is non existant to me. could easily put down a few. would like to see this as a regular though rather than a special brew.

Bright cloudy yellow/gold in color with white head. Crisp taste, with very obvious coriander and orange peel. Finished very clean and left me wanting the next sip. No unpleasant factors, but also didn’t quite wow me like some other Bell’s beers have.
