Bottle of batch #8961 at the Winking Lizard Crosswoods location. Pours cloudy gold/orange with a huge white head. Malty aroma with a bit of citrus hop and very crisp. Crisp citrus hop flavor up front with a nice malt balance before a bitter finish. One of the better beers of this style I’ve had for sure.

BPW #40 Served on tap at Kalamazoo Brewing Co./Eccentric Café. Appearance is light yellow gold with a thin white head. Light pale malts for flavor and aroma. Nothing too exciting but it is a lager.

Golden pour from a 12 oz bottle labelled "Lager of the Lake." Big white head that fizzles down to half and inch or so and stays there. Crisp, clean, hoppy aroma. Light rarified malt at the start with great dry hops finish. Great!

[2359-20090731] Bottle. Mild petrol leaves aroma has mild baby powder and chemical porta-potty hints. Clear, pale yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Solid woody yeast flavour. Light-medium body. Nice flavour balance but odd aroma.

12 oz. "Lager of the Lakes" bottles from Bell’s batch code 9108. Light, crisp, mouthfeel but with an assertive, almost metallic, hop taste that stays on well into the aftertaste. Nothing like the flavor of Bell’s big ales, but a good session lager for hot weather. Somewhat more robust than Sierra Nevada’s Summerfest. Less sour than Pilsner Urquell, but without the latter’s characteristic softness on the palate.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub.Neutral aroma, very pale colour, lacey. Well carbonated, well balanced. Average mouthfeel. Refreshing for coming off the hot and dusty trail.
