Golden pour from a 12 oz bottle labelled "Lager of the Lake." Big white head that fizzles down to half and inch or so and stays there. Crisp, clean, hoppy aroma. Light rarified malt at the start with great dry hops finish. Great!

[2359-20090731] Bottle. Mild petrol leaves aroma has mild baby powder and chemical porta-potty hints. Clear, pale yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Solid woody yeast flavour. Light-medium body. Nice flavour balance but odd aroma.

12 oz. "Lager of the Lakes" bottles from Bell’s batch code 9108. Light, crisp, mouthfeel but with an assertive, almost metallic, hop taste that stays on well into the aftertaste. Nothing like the flavor of Bell’s big ales, but a good session lager for hot weather. Somewhat more robust than Sierra Nevada’s Summerfest. Less sour than Pilsner Urquell, but without the latter’s characteristic softness on the palate.

Bottle at BCTC 2009: Clear golden with a white film of head. Bready aroma with a mild sweet Munich malt presence and a crackery drier note. Crisp feel. The flavor has a crackery bready base. Generous amounts of (tettnang?) it’s actually Saaz hops, and peppery bitterness in the finish. A nice lager.
