A great, clean and crisp lager. Slight hop notes in the aroma and flavor. Grainy, clean and simple. Hilarious that some people expect these types of beers to be as flavorful, complex and over-the-top as Two Hearted or Expedition. I’ll drink this beer any time!

Hmm.. can’t believe I’ve never rated this. Well, I’m glad I picked up a six of "Lager of the Lakes." I forgot how refreshing a pilsener could be. Nice. Really crisp and clean. Some malt flavors. Not really bitter. Good head that quickly dies down. Can go through these fast though, which I think for tonight is good. Nice to have a good drinking beer. This is it.

A crisp and refreshing beer. Has a bit of hop bite to it, which I didn’t expect from a lager labeled beer. Has a Pils dryness to it. A perfect ’anytime’ beer.

Golden coloured body with a thinnish white head and a bunch of bubbles rising from the bottom. Light-bodied; Strong malty flavours dominate with a mild cardboardie taste and some nice and potent hops. Aftertaste shows some fruits, a bit of metal and a slight feel of alcohol. Overall, a good beer, not as high as their other beers, due to their own high-standards, but definitely good to try! I sampled this twleve ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine in McLean, Virginia in March 2008.

A clear yellow/gold lager pour. Sweet citrus/pine aromas. Grainy malt flavors with a minimal hops and a bit of spice to it. Very clean finishing, a bit astringent.

Batch 8742. Pours pale golden with just the slightest haze. Has a nice fluffy white head with a small lace. Aroma is faint but has some lemon and graininess with just the faintest of spicy hops. Flavor is dry but fruity at the same time with hints of lemon zest and spicy Czech hops providing a playful bitterness. There is some bread dough and a nice little graininess. This is a wonderful pilsner and a very nice example of a classic Midwestern lager.

Bottle, batch #8654. A bright clear golden color with a medium fizzy white head, lots of carbonation going on here.A nice clean citrus hop and mild dry grain aroma,a little grassy, maybe some lemon. Flavor is very fresh and crisp, just mildly hoppy with some lemon, grass spice and kind of a light bready grain and then finishes slightly dry with just a bit more of the citrus zest . A nice easy drinker .
