| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 23, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy (mostly clear) deep reddish brown with brilliant red and copper highlights and a thin, persistent, light tan head. The aroma has a good bit of roast and breadiness - like over-cooked biscuits - with some sweeter toffee notes, too. The flavor starts with a good bit of caramel and toffee and some roasty flavors, too - dark toast. As the beer nears mid-palate, some fruity esters emerge which complement the residual malt sweetness nicely. Hop flavors emerge as well, earthy and subtle. The finish is somewhat dry with a sweet caramel presence lingering along with a nice, fruity, balancing hop bitterness. The roast flavors and caramel sweetness combine into chocolate-like flavors in the end. The mouthfeel is full in body and very creamy with a silkiness imparted from the suds. Overall, a very pleasant brown ale. I must confess that it wasn’t quite as great as I was hoping, but it is a nicely-done brown ale that is drinkable and tasty. KYackley (33), , Minnesota, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 13, 2008 Wow this may rival Dogfish Head for the best brown ale I have had. Different monster though, this is much lighter and goes down easier. Alot sweeter and smoother but is clearly a Bells product with the aftertaste. Might want to stick to bottles though, I bet on tap it comes across as too smoothed out. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 12, 2008 Deep brown, thick creamy tan head. Rich toasted milk chocolate malt aromas lay on soft wafts of peanut and caramel. Earth and chocolate toast flavors round to a well balanced lightly bitter finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, malty finish. A great session brew without a doubt as this literally could be the best brown I have ever tried… Rogueone (506), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 10, 2008 Sampled @ Blacklick tasting 10-2-08: I don’t know why I don’t buy this one more often. This is a great fall beer. Pours an amber to dark-brown with a small creamy white head. Flavor is malty and nutty with still a relatively impressive hop profile in the back end. Very "round" finish. Drinkability is off the charts!
