Malt and caramel taste with the sugar also. Creaminess helps the mouthfeel with the hops showing up a little at the end. Nice beer. yespr (12184), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Pours murky brown/orange with a lacing off- white head. Dried fruity and wineous aroma. Mild woody note. Flavour is fruity and mild woody, light dryness. Somewhat too dry and woody for my liking with no body to follow. Very minor oxidised note. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA

Pours a semi clear dark reddish brown with a massive beige head. Nose is malted grains and biscuits. Taste starts semi-sweet, then some oasted grains, nuts and a bit of citrus orange-peal. And damn it is giving me a sneezing attack. Body is medium and carbonation is moderate. Style is one of my least favs, but this is a decent brown ale. FlipperSipper (14), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Best Brown Ale is the perfect name for this brew. Poured a beutiful rouge hued deep brown with a fine stick to your upper lip head. Carbonation is the key to this brown, it is forward and quickly diminishing in the mouth, making for an excellent flavor profile and an exceptional subtle nuttiness from the toasted malts. Slight caramel sweetness, and a bit creamy, and balanced beautifully with the hop character. A must drink. Drop lacing comes off of a well retained light brown head. Nose of sweet malts, nuts, caramel/toffee, biscuit dough and some light chocolate notes.Flavor profile is similar, sweetness dominating from the nuts and malts, but well kept in check. Great brown ale. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA

12oz bottle, Batch #8212. Caramel brown body with ruby red running throughout. Drop lacing comes off of a well retained light brown head. Nose of sweet malts, nuts, caramel/toffee, biscuit dough and some light chocolate notes.Flavor profile is similar, sweetness dominating from the nuts and malts, but well kept in check. I really like the biscuit dough and chocolate notes in this beer. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Creamy palate. Very back end is somewhat astringent. Long finish gets a little watery at the very end, but that’s only a small nitpick. Great brown ale. couchand (182), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
