Pours a two finger light tan head that fades to a thin layer leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Slight malty nose. Starts sweet with caramel overtones, becomes more balanced with smooth finish but somewhat bitter aftertaste. $1.89 for a 12oz bottle from Chalet Party Goshen, In.

(on draft at Michael’s Bistro) Brown body with red tones; small head. Nutty aroma; hazelnuts, malt. Flavor is sweet upfront giving way to the nutty/earthiness and just a little bitterness on the back end. Surprisingly strong alcoholic aftertaste. Light to medium bodied.

Pours to a solid & hazy brown with a fairly large whitish-tan head. Very malty aroma. Taste is very grainy, dry, but overall very pleasant. Very good as far as brown ales go.

Bitter urine aroma, good flavor, but sour after taste, doesn’t compare to commercial brown ale’s like newcastle.

Appealing brown body, with a decent tan head. Good lacing. Caramel and mild chocolate aroma. Flavors of malt and nuts, with some cholcolate in the background. Pleasant, slightly bitter chocolate and roasted nut finish. A quality brown ale, indeed.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown with a fair sized dense head that shrinks down. Aroma is roasted malts, nut, hops. Flavor is chocolate, malt, nuts, hops poking through. Palate is medium, moderately carbonated, finish is bitter.
