| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with deep red hints when held up to a light. Aroma is very much like a fine liquor more than a beer. Notes of sweet cherries, oak, and earth all playing nicely off of one another. Taste is wonderful... Not to heavy on any one flavor they are all placed very evenly with in the taste of this beer. Cherries, oak, and an earthy port flavor make up the taste of the beer. Mouthfeel is smooth almost creamy with a hint of alcohol burn. Excellent! Beerman6686 (1310), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Intense vanilla oak aroma - almost like an oaky glass of red wine. Hints of bourbon and cherry as well as chocolate. Bourbon flavor with lots of oak. Dry with some sourness. Cherry flavor throughout with some spicy cinnamon and coconut notes. Bitter coffee ground finish. Alcohol hidden well, but is present. PeterLikesBeer (104), Berwyn Heights, Maryland, USA

Flavor is slightly sour, and continues the "this is really wine" trend. Well balanced and very good. jason (1627), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
