To the shock of no one, it’s a dark brown/black pour w/ a cocoa colored head.
Very tasty, the bourbon/vanilla/oak pairs very nicely with the tart cherry flavor. Notes of chocolate are also in the nose.
Definitely would like to have this one again. wmubronco1992 (192), Coldwater, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 11, 2008 Batch #7777 Pours black with a dark brown head. Strong tart cherry flavor balanced out with hints of chocolate and coffee. Lots of carbonation for a stout, but it works well and gives it a unique feel when it goes against the natural creamy flavor of the stout. Very well done beer. Look forward to finding this one again. hopscotch (5555), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 9, 2008 Bottle... This beer rocks!... Pours black with a small, creamy, beige head. Great retention. Earthy, fruity nose. Acidic cherries, bourbon, vanilla, coffee and mild chocolate. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. The flavor is acidic, but balanced nicely. Cherry and bourbon tartness; oaken earthiness; coffee ground and charcoal bitterness and chocolate malt sweetness... thoughtfully melded together. Tangy, lightly bitter, toasted finish. Opaque back with thick medium burnt brown head. Aroma is bourbon, big cherry from both the barrel and base beer, alc, big roasted malt, dark chocolate, sweet but well balanced. Big cherry and chocolate flavor, dark fruit, alc but not harsh, infact barrel is really well balanced with the cherry stout, biggest flavor to me is milk chocolate covered raisins, sweet roasted malt as well. Medium to full creamy body. An excelent beer that tastes amazing now but will improve with age as well. SuperDave70 (1158), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 7, 2008 Updated: Jul 9, 2008[ I found this bottle on the shelf ...so I took it... I think it was Davinci’s from xnoxhatex... so thaks guys... hope you don’t mind that I drank it = ). Batch #7777 bottled January of 2007. ] Pours a thinner black with a minimal beige head. Crazy aroma... the cherries really age and mix interestingly with the bourbon barrel. Notes of bourbon, vanilla, black cherries, coffee bean like dryness in the aroma... so unique. I love Bell’s cherry stout... and I love bourbon... man this is good. Sweet tart cherries, bourbon, wood, burnt brown sugar, leather, some soy saltiness, cola, coffee, dark chocolate.... its definitely crass but its good to me. Lighter body than I expected, medium/full with light sparkling carbonation.... ever so slightly syrupy. Really easy drinking too... you could sip it... but I’m having a hard time keeping my glass full.
