An amazingly unique combination of tart cherries and a rather big, roasty stout. As different as a beer that you will find, it isn’t common these days to drink a beer so original. The aroma is sour cherry and the body is opaque. A tasty after dinner beer. durhambeer (1224), Durham, USA

Sweet black cherry aroma, and the taste is almost overwhelming cherry flavor. Bottle poured with a tiny amount of head. A pleasant taste. Easily one of my favorite cherry stouts. markwise (1200), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA

Pours dark brown with a nose of chocolate malt, tart cherry, some vanilla. Flavor is similar with a tart cherry finish. Very tasty. Nice spin on a cherry beer. jeremytoni (1122), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 26, 2009 From a bottle poured black with a very small head. Flavor of sour cherry and very little stout finish. SDalkoholic (1196), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 25, 2009 Bottle from California Bottles. Has a decent amount of cherry in the aroma but in general the darkly roast malt play the part. Stout is a perfectly shade of dark brown with a thin layer of film. The flavor is tart with light aftertaste of sourness and taste of sugar with only moderate amount of roast malt. RedXIII (127), Powell, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 25, 2009 There was just too much cherry flavor in this for me. Very tart cherry flavor that would have been better if it was a little sweeter. This stout was unfortunately one-dimensional. Nice roasty malt finish to balance it out, but the tart cherries were just too much to put this Bell’s offering in with the elite.
