Pours black with a thin, fully receidng tan head. Aroma of dark roast, chocolate, and light tart cherries. Taste is lightly sweet with the familiar Bells roastiness, with chocolate and cherry undertones. Mouthfeel is full bodied with lush carbonation. This was enjoyable.

12oz, 7777, pours black with dark tan head. nose of cherries, and roasty chocolate. flavor is tart cherries, that evolve into roasty notes with dark chocolate and nuts. a well balanced roasty stout. could probably use some more hop presence but this is highly underrated.

(Bottle via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=3 target=blank>shigadeyo, thanks Craig!) Chocolate and sour cherry...Pours very dark brown, close to opaque except for some lightness around edges. Aroma is milk chocolate and cherry. Mouthfeel medium-full, fairly smooth. Flavor is mostly chocolate and tart, nearly sour cherry along with some light coffee roast. Kind of like a chocolate-covered cherry. Hints of grassiness near finish. Pretty decent, seems a bit contrived but comes off pretty well.

12oz bottle. Aroma is light and of burnt dark chocolate and cherry. Dark black/red hue. Flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter with an average finish. Palate is light/medium and watery flat. It was ok but it was like they took the fantastic kalamazoo stout and added cherries, bad idea.

Poured a really dark red with small head. The aroma was of chocolate cherries and other fruit. The flavor was of bitter cherries and less stout. this was not the best but it has its place.

I tried this beer on July 27, 2007 at the ’Beer Bistro’ in Toronto on the waitress’ suggestion (should I get this or Unibroue’s Trois Pistoles).

The version I tried was only 7% ABV

It poured coca-cola black into a tulip glass with absoloutely no head. The aroma was that of coffee and cherries. The mouthfeel was crisp and full-bodied with a medium level of carbonation. The taste started off good with chocolate and cherries but by the end, it was so tart on the back of the tongue, it was all I could do to finish.

Borders closer to a fruit beer than a stout. Tastes like chocolate covered cherries. It has a very tart thick cherry flavor to it. Also some chocolate and coffee flavor, but I wish these would be a bit stronger. One or two is nice, but the cherries are quite strong after a while. Could use somemore balance.

bottle from jasonmecchi77: pours black with a thin tan head. aroma is chocolate and roasted grains with some cherry in the nose. the flavour is sweet and roasted chocolate with definite cheery taste. it finishes wonderfully with sourness. very good stout
