Batch 8251. Redish brown color. Riche creamy head that dissipated quickly. Aroma and flavor of yeast and molasses. Smooth and creamy. Has a very rich aftertaste. Have been waiting to try this for a long time, finally caught it when it was available at the Bells general store. My first doppelbock so didn’t really know what to expect. Overall a very good beer, but not one of the best from Bells.

Pours a amber brown with a thick white head. Hoppy nose, with a smooth brown sugar finish, with a hint of alcohol.

12 oz. Clear red-copper with a 4-finger head that settles to a lasting, creamy ring. Metallic caramel, corn and slight grain aroma. Flavor is caramel corn, slight chocolate and pecan, grain, dry grass and a hint of alcohol. Smooth, medium body is slightly dry.

Pours a ruddy deep reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma is nutty and spicy, with brown sugar notes. Flavor is also nutty, caramel and some chocolate. Brown sugar and molasses notes as well, with a some hops and earthiness in the finish with a bit of earthiness. Mouthfeel is full and alcohol is undetectable. This beer is beyond excellent.

Batch 8251. This dopplebock pours a reddish amber color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet with a touch of spiciness. A medium bodied dopplebock. The malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. The hops are slightly spicy. Lively carbonation, perhaps a little too lively for this style of beer. Nicely balanced. Hides the alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with a touch of alcohol.

Copper to amber in color with little head this one had malty aromas with molasses, rock candy and brown sugar. In the mouth it was medium-bodied with solid concentration and the malty flavors from the nose continuing. Well-balanced and deep while still quite drinkable.

Bells beers usually have a high expectation with me, and deservedly so. They make some top notch beers, so when I don’t get something that doesn’t give me that wow factor, I’m caught off guard a little. That’s what happened with this, but it’s still a nice beer.

An aroma of sweet malts and a hint of alcohol. It pours out the color of Pepsi/Coke in my glass...brownish/reddish/purple with a light beige head. Flavors of toffee, treacle, dark fruit and alcohol, but nothing outwardly intense. Tasty, but plain.

One of my favorite Bells. In addition to being a big fan of doppelbocks, Bell’s doesn’t disappoint. Matly and great texture. Beautiful smell and reddish pour.
