Pours deep copper with a large off-white head. Thick toffee aroma with a good deal of plum and some woody vanilla. Similar flavor profile, with a dry alcohol finish. Could stand to be thicker, have more substance, but it’s definitely a solid Doppel.

12 oz. brown longneck bottle. I didn’t catch a freshness date. Poured out a light brown color, clear as a bell. It had very little head. Aromas are of brown sugar, caramel, some vanilla, a little yeast. Flavors are of sweet malts, caramel, vanilla, some molasses. Thin mouthfeel and body. Needs work in this area. Finished somewhat dry.

Thanks to Santa for this! Dark brown and hazy small head that quickly dissipates to nothing. Big bread like aroma. Malty light hops, and sweet flavors with a medium body.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear light brown/copper color. Head was off white and reduced over a few minutes to a thin ring. The aroma was predominantly fruity, reminiscent of grape candy and cherry. Sweet on the tongue. The flavors mimicked the aroma. Lots of fruit with a touch of toffee. Grape candy came to mind again. Overrated in my opinion (87th percentile) on the day I rated it. It was on par with the Capital Brewery Blonde Doppelbock when tasted side-by-side.

Bottle, Batch 7209. Plums Raisins, slight roast notes. Pours a nice muddy brown red color with a thin head. Some tobacco notes, and slight leather with a decent palate. Its not a celebrator but its good, fairly easy drinker for a 8% brew. Thanks to MrRomero.

12oz bottle: Batch 7209. Poured light brownish red with a small dissipating tan head. Not as dark as the German Doppelbocks. Big malty aroma with some soy sauce and caramel. Big sweet malt taste with lots of caramel and a bit of chocolate. Mild meatiness and very slight roastiness. Nice full body. Pretty good doppelbock.
