Bartzilla’s Death Metal Beer Day Jun 07. Shared with Bartzilla, Naven, WeeHeavySD and others. Clear amber with a malty aroma, flavor was sweet and the alcohol well hiden. This one just slid right down.

(Bottle via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=3 target=blank>shigadeyo, thanks Craig!) Sticky vanilla maltiness...Pours clear reddish brown with one finger of biege head. Aroma is rock-candy malt, vanilla and maybe some cotton candy. Mouthfeel is full, very smooth, pretty sticky. Light weepy rings of lacing. Flavor is vanilla and rock candy malt - tasty for sure but not much for complexity here. Lovely palate on this though. Almost like a barleywine without the hops.

Bottle: Nice pour of a caramel amber color with a small beige head. Scents of sweet maltiness, caramel, fruit, and a light breadiness. Flavor is balanced with maltiness, fruits, and caramel. A little citrus. Very pleasant and easy drinking. Thanks Eithcubes.

Brown color with some red on the edges, little bit of a white head. Malty aroma with some caramel. The flavour is typical dopplebock, creamy caramel, lots of malts, a hint of hops and well hidden alcohol.

Beer 4 of Bartzilla’s Death Metal Beer Tasting 6/30/07. Shared with Bartzilla, Naven, BikesandBeer and others. This was a light fresh dopplebock. Not a bad brew, tasty and light without the 8% really coming through much at all.

Smells pretty malty. Tastes that way as well. Hell, I just described a Dopplebock! This is EXACTLY what you would expect it to be, and pretty darn good at that. Alcohol notes are completely subdued. Trouble looms. Bonus invisible point for the goats on the label. Hints at evil, which is how I roll.

Pours a slightly hazy rusty orange brown color with a small white head. Aroma of malts, caramel and candied dark sugar. Taste is malty with a strong caramel backbone and a bready finish. Nothing special.
