Good, but way too sweet. Needed some balance. Caramel and raisin malts dominate the taste. Sweet aroma and finish. Unpleasant finish with sweet alcohol taste. A little thin bodied for the style.

Bottle. Total sweet malt bomb. Sweet aroma backed by a sweet flavor of caramel and malts. Sweeter than other doppelbocks I’ve tried, but not bad. Definitely very flavorful.

Had this at a Bell’s Fest in Worthington, OH. Poured a dark ruby brown with big tan head. The aroma and flavor was a strange cross between banana and rose, more like drink a potpurri than I would have expected. Still a good beer from Bell’s but not one I would necessarily come back to when faced with other doppelbocks or other Bell’s offerings.

Bottle. Mild aroma, surprisingly little going on ohter than some sweetness and lots of alcohol. Pours a caramel brown with a nice big head. Quite hot, lots of alcohol, very sweet, and a vegemite aftertaste that absolutely kills it for me.

12oz bottle. Thanks to Kevin for the bottle. Pours a clear mahogany. Long lasting off white head. Nose is sour fruit, caramel and some light banana. A little thin. Flavor is great. Big bready sourdough up front with some spicy dark fruit esters. Big caramel notes. Very rich with a big full palate. Another great beer from Bell’s.

Slightly hazed, reddish brown appearance with a small, khaki colored head and little lacing. A plethora of malty delights greet the nose, including molassas, toffee, tobacco and ripe fruit. Rich, sweet, malty taste, full of ripe, dark fruit, and balanced by a subtle hop presence. Smooth, full bodied mouthfeel with a long lasting finish.

12oz bottle from shawnm213, big thanks. Dark copper pour with a light tan head. Fruity, toasty aroma, slightly sweet. Sweet, light raosted maltiness, caramelly, very smooth with just a hint of alcohol in the finish, pretty tasty.
