Thanks for sharing yet another Bells Mike! Deep mahogony body with just a sprinkling of mocha coloured dust around the edges. Roasted malt aromas, with burnt brown sugar, candy, and molasses. Roasted hazlenuts, malt sweetness, burnt sugars, and chestnut are the flavours. SMooth and drinkable, with ABv not detectable. Good. Thanks Mike!

bottle. rich mahogany coloured body with a small white head. the pleasant aroma has some herbal flowery grass, candy, caramel, and cookies. flavour is a nice touch, not too sweet as can be found in many of this style, not entirely rich though but a rather soft quaffable body with flavours of chocolate, bread, and caramel. finishes with some sugariness. pretty good.

Bottle. Pours a nice golden brown. Very hazy. Nice caramel, malts, raisin in the aroma. Nice and think on the palate. Very malty, raisin, caramel flavoring to it. Just a touch of yeast. Finish is nice and smooth. A very nice Doppwlbock. Might have to get a sixer of this.

Bottle. Amber with a foamy beige and heavy carbonation. Sediment throughout. Prunes, raisins, banana, strawberry all meld with caramel, toffee, rye and yeasts. Interesting brew but it is just a bit too sweet.

The aroma is malty sweet and the color is a reddish brown. The flavor is dominated by a caramel sweetness with a lightly hopped bitterness.

Rating #100: Batch 7209: Kind of a muddy red color, not a whole lot of head. Aroma smelled sweet with some dark fruits. Very balanced flavor, some caramel and other nice malty flavors, and an present but mild bitterness.

Batch 6656 (January 20, 2005)-pours an excellent swampy red mahogony...with a fizzy twofinger chestnut head that quickly disappears...really good looking. Aroma is chocolate and a ton of roasted malt...and some heavy dried fruit. Taste is very sweet...nuts and honey...lots of sweet and creamy malts..caramel...a bit of dried fruit sweetness. Like a bowl of grapenuts with honey and raisins. Really tasty. Mouthfeel is slightly over medium bodied and very creamy...finish is a bit dry and spicey. This is the best doppelbock I’ve had so far...don’t know if it was the aging or what... but Bell’s has done it again and again and now again.

Pours deep ruby brown with a big though fizzy and quickly diminishing head, with no lacing. Aroma is intense and rich plum, raisin, chocolate, and port. In the mouth is fizzy and lively, smooth and silky, with unripe fruit taste and nice sweetness. Caramel shows up as well. A very fine brew.
