Flavors are carmel, molasses, dark cherries, raisins, and brown sugar. Smooth up front with a little fizz on the back of my throat. Smooth again going down. Pretty good Doppel. lamas (736), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 2, 2005 Bottle courtesy of my SecretSanta. Batch ID #6656. Packaged on: January 20, 2005. Pours a deep, hazy amberish brown with a thin, sandy tan head. Overripe plums, sweet malts, some hops and alcohol are present in the aroma. Plums and brown sugariness dominate the taste immediately. There is a burnt caramel sugary sweetness and subtle alcohol that hangs onto the back of my throat. Hints of caramel and some wintery spices in the finish. All in all, too candied and sweet. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2005 Bright forest fire in color. Lightyly herbaceous hop and juicy malt aroma, though subtle. Juicy malts, which come off a bit medicinal. Light cherry flavors throughout, with light hints of caramel and molasses. A pretty average Doppelbock. I was hoping for more. lonelybeergeek (31), Tempe, Arizona, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 31, 2005 Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is medium brown. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, nuts), with notes of brown sugar and raisin. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. An easy-going, mildly aromatic doppelbock. Well done, but not that exciting. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Taste is candied, sweet, with hints of chocolate. Fantastic mouthfeel-smooth, creamy, and balanced. Finish is a little lacking. JoshuaB (428), Detroit, Michigan, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 16, 2005 Continuing on with the Dopplebock theme for the month. Pours a nice pale brown with a light tan head. Nose is lots of caramel and some sweetness. Taste is lots of caramel sweetness and some roasted cocoa. Finishes pretty clean with no hint of EtOH. Silky smooth mouthfeel, with some yeast becoming ever present. A solid Dopplebock. TheBeerOrg (1589), Kentucky, USA
