tennisjoel (686), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA Jul 8, 2008 Red brown body with a white disappating head. Clean palate. Nuts, caramel toffee flavor. Above average within style. I had this after rerating celebrator and I found the two to be fairly similar as far as the enjoyability factor. esjaygee (681), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jul 7, 2008 Clear amber with a thin slowly dissipating tan head. Aroma of caramel, toasted malts, cookie, fruit, molasses, brown sugar and alcohol. Taste of brown sugar, molasses, fruit and alcohol. Tilted to the sweet malted side but not too sweet to make in unbalanced. Hides the alcohol decently. As with most Bells beers, I liked this one a lot. stefanje (478), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Jul 3, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of lb4lb. Pours a reddish brown with a small beige head that soon recedes to 1/8 inch. The aroma is moderate in strength with sweet malts, molasses and roasted barley. The flavor is rich with the roasted barley, brown sugar and nutty caramel. The mouthfeel is uneven starting a bit thin but building to a syrupy conclusion. The finish is medium in duration with lingering sweet malts. Overall: a very easy drinking concoction. Not my favorite from Bell’s, but its still pretty darned good. Thanks Deniz. wmubronco1992 (94), Coldwater, Michigan, USA Jun 28, 2008 Batch 8251. Redish brown color. Riche creamy head that dissipated quickly. Aroma and flavor of yeast and molasses. Smooth and creamy. Has a very rich aftertaste. Have been waiting to try this for a long time, finally caught it when it was available at the Bells general store. My first doppelbock so didn’t really know what to expect. Overall a very good beer, but not one of the best from Bells. aoa56 (14), zeeland, Michigan, USA Jun 26, 2008 Pours a amber brown with a thick white head. Hoppy nose, with a smooth brown sugar finish, with a hint of alcohol.
