Cloudy brown coloured. Very complex aroma with pine needles, liquorice, toffee, ginger and other spices. Medicinal and herbal flavour with plenty of liquorice. Very different and interesting.

Good malt aroma. Great hop and malt balance and flavor throughout. Could use a little aging to better blend all the flavors. Finishes slightly dry.

Cloying honey sweetness courted by sedate Thai basil and plentiful dried fruit...Butterscotch contributes to the oily body and is strangely overcome by green hop bitterness...A respectable alcohol burn paints the end of the tongue, as entertainment oscillates from thoughtless delirium to cultivated imagination...

A 3-year-old 2004 vintage presented tons of honeyed sweetness leaking onto alcohol heat and green hop bitterness...This is soooo sweet, it doesn’t seem to have changed that much with the years...I didn’t know what to make of it when I first had it, but now I’m sure this is really not my thing...

Very dirty brown, totally opaque and wearing a light off-white ring. Aroma is weird and powerful. Biscuity basil, very earthy thailand spices mixture, grassy cherries, cinnamon, rhubarb.... Rather complex and quite well blended in the funky spicy beer category. Sucre d’orge and caramelic malts are also of the fest. Spicy palate, but never agressive, coffee, molasses and caramelic sweet malt profile are easily countered by the hard to believe grassy spices (ginger, basil, cinnamon). It remains very sweet overall, with candyish vinous peaks, but expertly hidden alcohol. Low carbonation, medium to full bodied. As experimental as expected and worth a try or 2, but not a particularly spectacular beer. Thanks to raindog once again.

WCCII; Thanks to Jeffin7. Pours a hazy murky brown with ho head. Medium strong surprising sticky ripe berries and honey nectar junior malt biscuit aroma. Flavours nicely mirror aroma but not as sweet and with added fortified vinous and touch of earthy yeastiness. Medium soft low sweetness malty finish. Intriguing.

Bottled, thanks hopsrus! Cloudy nut brown. Hoppy earhty green menthe aroma. Very malty and somewhat vinous. Salty and spicy, confusing and complex with a Fisherman's Friend finish. This is what Bell's do best: Ridiculously full bodied experimental beer with bizarre flavours.

2004 Vintage: Aroma of raw brown sugar. Flavor is spice, caramel, brown sugar, and some sort of vegetable-esce flavor I can't quite pine point, sweet potato and carrots maybe? Very nice complexity but it was a bit disjoint.

Murky medium brown color with no head. Aroma is very barleywine like. Lots of alcohol, sweet malt, some hops, and an aged aroma. Flavor is very distinctive. This beer is like an automobile wreck happening in the mouth. Initial flavor is sweet, but in the same taste there are spices. A real vintage quality to this. I am not sure how old my bottle is. Great thanks to hopsrus. I never thought I would have the opportunity to sample this delicacy.
